Presents:
Wilderness
Survival Weekend
Our
wilderness survival program gives students the opportunity to learn how to
provide ones self with their basic needs to stay alive in any survival
situation. Whether lost, stranded, or in a
state of emergency our program will fill the void of ignorance when it comes to
taking care of your self, friends, and family. By learning these skills the
participants become increasingly comfortable in a wilderness setting, whether
its alone or in a group. This experience will also demonstrate how closely we
as a species depend on our environment and natural surroundings as a source of
life. Participants will learn to fulfill their basic survival needs; shelter,
fire, water, food without the need for modern tools. Skills include fire
by friction (you will make your own bow
drill kit), survival shelters, plant and animal identification, animal
tracking, Hunting and gathering techniques, trapping and much more. This will be
our third semester that this program has successfully been offered to students
at Georgetown.
