Wolfpack - Family Nature Connection Series: Natural Basket Making (May 11th 2024)

We warmly invite you to participate in our exciting workshop, where you'll have the chance to construct a stunning, handcrafted basket, using materials sourced directly from nature. This interactive workshop is not just entertainment - it's a family-friendly learning experience. It allows young children to develop new skills as they discover simple weaving and twisting techniques. They'll be able to create a basic basket or wreath in a supportive environment, right alongside their parents. The experience is designed to bring families together in a creative space, fostering bonding, teamwork, and a love for natural crafts.

Pathfinder Wilderness Skills Series- "Spring" Wild Edible Plant & Mushroom Walk (May 19th, 2024)

Food and medicine are growing all around us, and yet very few people know how to recognize the abundance of the land we walk upon. In this walk and talk we will explore:

  • The simplest strategy for getting to know plants
  • How to correctly identify plants and mushrooms and how to rule out poisonous look a likes
  • The top wild staple foods in the area
  • How to gather enough calories in a day to last a month
  • How to harvest sustainably and promote wild edibles with guerrilla planting tactics

Bring a friend or three, snacks, water, and note taking materials if they help you to learn. Audio and video recording is allowed and encouraged (check in with the group to make sure everyone consents to be recorded and or photographed) especially if the content will be shared online.

Age: 10 & Older (under 16 must be accompanied by a parent)

Pathfinder Wilderness Skills Series- "Late Summer" Wild Edible Plant & Mushroom Walk (Aug 4th, 2024)

Nature is abundant with food, medicine & more yet we have forgotten our ancient ways of working with the botanical and fungal relatives growing all around us. Learning about wild foods takes some time and focus but in the process we are rewarded with greater health, happiness, resilience and connection to the natural world. In this walk we will cover topics such as:

-Plant/mushroom identification & botany
-How to harvest sustainably and prepare different wild edible foods throughout the seasons
-Basics of field herbalism and medicinal preparations
-Guerilla planting & propagation techniques
-Agroforestry principles & practices
-Temperate ecology and more
